The evening sun had just dropped below the horizon,
the air was warm, and calm.
Across the bay, the bright lights of the big City.
The CNE was in full swing, with it's sounds drifting in the air.
The ducks swam along the shore,
birds flew to their nests, for the night ahead.
Bats were coming out of the trees,
getting their fill of the insects above.
Raccoons were coming out of the trees,
fighting for their food.
And the crickets were chirping loudly,
so peaceful and perfect.
A perfect moment;
a beautiful moment.

Oh, you reminded me of the Ex.
I haven't been to the Ex in years. I love(d) the Ex. It was always such a neat atmosphere, so different from parks like Wonderland or Darien Lake or Disney. I don't think we'll get there this year but maybe I'll have to keep it in mind for next year.
I remember one year when we were kids, sitting at home on Labour Day morning doing nothing, and then I think I suggested we go to the Ex and we went with mom and dad.
I remember the concerts we used to see, Genesis, our very first ever concert, Robert Plant, Supertramp. I saw Garth Brooks there when I was older.
