CBS are the bad ones?

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,144077,00.html

Mr. Gibson,

How can you say, “Sorry we blew up your town, but we had to do it. You let Al-Zarqawi set up shop there.”?

You expect the civilians who live in Fallujah to keep Al-Zarqawi from setting up shop in their city? Are you serious?

Look at what it took the American Armed Forces to get him and his cronies out of there.

Would you say the same thing to an American city, if it were overrun by a Terrorist Group? I think not.

And then I just love the following comment you made, “These are people who just don't get it. These are people for whom reality is a distant moon orbiting their strange little world.”

I think you have it wrong here. Those poor terrorized civilians in Fallujah are living in reality. You are the one who’s reality is on a distant moon.

You have made many unbelievable comments in the past, but this one takes the cake.

p.s. No I do not hate Americans. I may disagree with some of your Governments policies, but I respect the American ‘people’, the same way I respect the Iraqi ‘people’, but not their former dictator. The only thing I don’t respect is idiotic comments like the one you’ve made. I’d love to see you try to defend your comment.

Zippo

This is futile!

What're you looking for?

Some roaches. I'm homeless man.

Ah, yes.

You know how many people smoke a spliff, before going to the movies?

Oh yeah, for sure. You can always smell it when you walk past here.

Got a light?

Sorry man, I don't smoke.

Don't be sorry. Make sure you stay like that.

Why don't you quit?

I'm homeless man.

Ah.

Oh look! I found another one!

Obsession

Not CK.

DB.

I'm the Stranger...

Standing in the train,
with his Parka on his head,
staring at the door, staring at the wall.

I saw him again, and now I know it's a man.
Although this time it was on an hour later train,
but on the same car, second from the front.

I watched him, and he behaved the same as before.
When he heard somebody coming, he'd get all nervous,
and try his hardest to face away from where they were coming.

But he slipped up, and I could see his face for a split second.
It was a thin, long face,
maybe the same age as me.

I wondered if he saw that I was watching,
and if he knew that somebody had seen him.
Did he care?

He departed at the Exhibition again,
and I wondered how he buys his train tickets.
Does he go to the cashier, or buy them through the machine?

DB

Danger!

Storm, what storm?

Once again, the storm that was supposed to hit the GTA,
is less than what was expected.

Why do I let myself, over and over again,
get my hopes up, when I should know better?

It really does seem that the weather forecasters
have been wrong 99% of the time lately.

Should we accept this,
or should we be complaining?

I can't help but think that these completely wrong forecasts,
impact the economy in many ways.

I look out the window at the traffic on the Gardiner,
which is lighter than normal.

Have people stayed home again, as happens whenever there is a
Winter Storm Warning?

It seems that Toronto has a barrier around it,
a type of force field that keeps the Storms North and South of us.

Should I really believe that Monday will be 13C?
Last week they were calling for 13C THIS week, but I'm freezing my @$$ off!

LR has repeatedly told me I could be a meteorologist.
Sure, I could make uneducated 'guesses' too...

Conspirator

After working late last night,
I made my way to Union Station,
and boarded the 7:43 PM Westbound Train.

I was sitting on the lower level,
at the West end of the second car,
facing towards the front of the train.

A passenger,
man or woman I could not tell,
boarded and stood at the doors.

This passenger was wearing a Parka,
with the hood over their head,
all zipped and buttoned to the top.

A beautiful,
blonde haired woman boarded,
and sat across the aisle from me.

She took off her coat,
and proceeded to make a phone call,
all the while looking at this intriguing passenger with the Parka.

I then watched with some vigilance
this Parka wearing passenger,
who was acting strangely.

This person did not want to make contact
with anybody boarding or walking past;
turning their face to keep from making eye contact.

I never could see this persons face,
unable to tell whether they were male or female.
It was beginning to get a little disconcerting.

I started to get unreal thoughts,
that this person could be a radical,
who would cause waste to this train.

These thoughts were doubtful,
but I couldn't help but strategize
as to what I would do if something did happen.

I was looking around me
to see what type of people were on the train,
and how I could use their help if needed.

As the doors closed,
this 'radical' turned towards the doors,
looking out the window.

This was a position that they could keep,
without having to face any person.
Or were they scheming?

I wondered what they would do if the conductor came by,
asking to see their ticket.
Would this be a trigger for them?

We arrived at the first stop,
Exhibition,
and the doors opened.

The Parka wearing passenger turned,
and walked to the open doors.
Was this it?

They stepped off the train,
and walked across the platform
to the exit from the station.

Nothing happened.

It was a pleasant letdown.

Maybe this person had some mental health problems.

Maybe they had a very serious phobia.

What an imagination I have... lol.

Go Dream

I was taking the train into Toronto from Burlington, with EM. We were coming through the Etobicoke area.

Somehow, I had walked out the front of the train, and was standing outside the front door, holding on for dear life. The engineer saw me out there, but let me stay out there. The thing is, although I was afraid for my life, I didn’t want to come inside.

There was a stopped train on the tracks, and we were heading straight for it. I was worried that we were going to plow into the back of the train, and that I would die, but we were able to switch to the track on the right of the train, just in time.

We continued on, to Exhibition station, where we stopped to pick up more passengers. I could have gone inside the train at this point, but was content to ride outside the front door.

We then went on to Union Station, where I departed the train, with EM, and we walked through the Royal York Hotel, and on through the underground to work.

Kicked in the Back

Last week, I had my nieces and nephews over
for an afternoon and night of some Xbox.

During the night, my nieces slept on my sofabed,
and my nephew slept in my bed.

I had heard that he is a very restless sleeper,
so I was trying to think of how to keep him under control.

I had him sleep under my comforter on one side of the bed,
and I'd sleep on the other side, on top of the comforter.

I used another blanket for myself,
and thought that having this arrangement would keep him from hitting me.

That didn't last long though.
It wasn't soon after he fell asleep that he first hit me in the face.

He was rolling around the bed, flopping his arms around,
hitting me in the face with his hands, and my back with his legs.

Several times he'd be lying sideways,
with his legs pressed into my back.

I went onto the floor at one point,
thinking I could get more sleep this way.

I slept for a while this way,
but then went back onto the bed, because the floor was too hard.

Needless to say, I didn't sleep much that night.

Headaches and Tiredness

Yesterday was a good day. Hanging out with some friends, talking, walking, eating, driving, talking ... We were down at the lake, taking photographs of the winter scenes. It's good to take pictures again, like we did 10 years ago. I need a new camera though, because the new ones are much more powerful and faster. Then going to eat, and having to wait for the waiter to take our order. I think he forgot about us. Talking, talking and talking. Afterwards looking for a Starbucks, but not finding one in my automobile friendly part of the city. I guess Starbucks wants to be in areas where there are lots of people walking around, and also people who are 'better' off. I think we must have driven around for around an hour, before we found a place. It was all good though, with the Caramel Macchiattos. Then coming back to my place, first planning on playing Xbox, but then continuing our talking and talking and talking. Our fear of just going out and starting a business. How to bring up a child. Dealing with family, and not alienating them. The evening then ended, and I went to bed shortly after, but couldn't sleep. I got up to do some web surfing, and found LR online as well. Always reading more and more about the deadly Tsunami in South Asia. Finally feeling tired enough to go to bed, only to wake up 6 hours later, not being able to fall asleep again, because of a Headache.

Televisions and my head...

Televisions and skulls,
do not necessarily go well together.

I just had my 27 inch television land on my head.

It wasn't a far fall,
approximately two feet;
but man,
it left a welt on my head.

I won't try and explain how it happened,
it's just one of those things that's too bizarre.

I will probably need a new television though.
Maybe US could fix it,
he knows those types of things.

SHUT UP YOU #&(!@& DOG!!!

It's just a dog,
and you can get used to the noise.

But it is so annoying,
I wish it would SHUT UP!

I will turn on some music,
to drown it out.

Christmas was good,
I enjoyed the time away.

Ate too much turkey,
and other stuff too.

Resolutions are coming soon,
maybe one will be to exorcise.

Lonely Train Guy

I was riding the train, coming home from work today.
I sat on the South Side of the train,
listening to U2's One,
watching the traffic drive along the highway.

I was thinking about how good that song is,
and was getting in a Mellon collie sort of mood.
I wasn't depressed today,
since it was the last day of work before Christmas break,
but sitting there on the train,
listening to that song,
put me in a Mellon collie mood.

I could see my reflection in the window,
and thought that I looked like that cliche guy,
riding the train,
thinking deep thoughts,
or getting away from his problems.

This morning it was snowing,
which turned to rain as I left for work.
As I arrived at the Streetcar stop,
there was a woman waiting there,
who had no clue as to where she was.
She told me that she got off the bus,
and wanted to get to St. Joes.
I helped her along,
telling her which Streetcar to take,
and she appreciated it so very much.

As I was on the Streetcar,
at a stop along Queen Street,
a young woman,
probably in her late teens,
stepped on and sat next to me.
She looked a little spaced out,
and I could smell the marijuana smoke,
heavily on her coat.

The temperature dropped severely during the day,
turning all of the rain on top of the snow into ice.
The TTC closed down the Streetcars,
because of fears that the wires would break from the ice.
This is the reason I ended up taking the train home in the evening.

I took a few pictures during the day,
first of the traffic driving past my condo in the morning,
then of frozen trees in the evening.

Anyway,
today is the eve of Christmas Eve,
and tomorrow is Christmas Eve.

Have fun...

Dei @ Wirk

It was a cold day today,
starting at minus 20 or more,
and ending at minus 10.

It's snowing right now,
but not very much,
probably only a few mm.

Construction sites were stopped today,
concrete would freeze and men too,
cranes not moving.

I wonder what the homeless do,
go to shelters I guess,
would be unbearable for me.

IT always checks his illegally parked car,
opens window to check and never closes it,
today made it freezing in the office.

People never turn off the hot water,
always dripping,
only takes a mm to turn it off.

Juice bottle was too big,
couldn't close the fridge,
wasting electricity.

Computers left on,
all night long,
wasting electricity.

Desk lamps left on,
all night long,
wasting electricity.

Does it really matter if we waste it all,
destroy nature on the planet,
when we're smaller than a spec in this Universe?

Chapters was open until 11 tonight,
went to look after work,
waiting for BC.

Went to Montana's with BC,
had dinner,
after about a year.

Drove past several construction sites,
on the way to High Park station,
to get to BC's car.

Had a message from JM,
when I got home,
from Red Dear.

Says I should call him,
to catch up,
from over a year ago.

Didn't go to JM's wedding,
in July,
because it was in Red Dear.

Funny thing was,
I was honestly thinking of,
calling JM this week too.

Saw RM,
reminded me to write in my,
own Blog.

Che Guavera's drinking tea...

I went to see The Motorcycle Diaries last night with LR.
I found it quite inspiring,
affecting me all day today.

I didn't know much about Ernesto going into this movie.
Basically all that I knew,
was that he was a revolutionary.

The travels that Ernesto made with his companion ,
brought back memories of my own cross country excursion;
although I didn't come back with thoughts of revolution in my mind.

It was inspiring to see the changes Che went through,
wanting to help the indigenous people.
I have felt similar feelings,
wanting to help,
but not knowing how.

As LR told me today,
be careful what order you read his history in,
as disillusionment can set in.

Coming home this evening,
I began some research,
and disillusionment has set in.

I consider myself peaceful,
and reading about Ernesto's fighting,
and his ruthlessness,
I found hard to understand.

During his travels through South America,
he seemed to be a compassionate man.
He does not seem to be the same man,
at his life's end.

He went from compassion for humankind,
to passion for a cause.

Live for Now!

Stop living for the past.
We can remember, and learn from it...
but we shouldn't live for it.

I have fond memories of my youth,
and of my early adulthood.
But I shouldn't get in a funk about growing older.

I'm still young,
and will look at my current life in the future,
again with fondness.

Always live for the now.
Don't have any regrets.
Make it all count.

You won't be able to live it again...

More on this...

While reading and watching news reports today, I was struck at the way most World Leaders Eulogized Yasser Arafat. All but the United States of America praised Arafat, describing him as a 'Statesman', and a man of 'Courage and Conviction'. Even the United Nations got in on the act.

Now. I don't want to take sides on the Middle East conflict, because I have major issues with the way both sides have handled the situation over there. I don't think either side is innocent. To describe Arafat in these ways, and to have such a diplomatic funeral, with representatives from all of these countries doesn't seem right to me. The fact is that this man used some vicous and cruel tactics to try and further his cause. I can understand the anger that those people feel because of the way they are being treated, but their actions just help to perpetuate the violence, as do the retaliatary actions of the other side.

It just doesn't seem right to be praising this man, when he did the things that he did, while the United States of America is being constantly criticised for their efforts in this so called 'War on Terror'. He should be equally criticised; just because somebody dies, doesn't clean their life slate.

Generations lived with him...

Generations of people lived with Yasser Arafat in the news.

I can remember as a child during the 70's and 80's, constantly hearing his name on the news, but not understanding exactly what was going on. Lots of fighting and death, as there still is in the Middle East.

Then during the 90's he was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize, along with the Isaeli leaders. But that peace didn't last long, because both sides began killing each other again by the end of the decade. Almost daily it was either suicide attacks or retaliatary attacks.

Now he is dead, at the age of 75. Seeing his picture, he looked like he was at least 85. We probably won't know exactly what was wrong with him.

The old boys are slowly dying away, and will all be dead within a decade or so. Reagan died too this year, although he was ill for quite a while.

It's all a reminder that we are all getting old. The children of this age will look back and remember Dubya, Sadam, and OBL; always hearing their names on the news, but not knowing exactly what was going on, except for lots of fighting and death.

Will their kids also know the Middle East for this in the decades to come? I hope and wish that they won't have to.

Another week begins.

Another week begins, after a hectic week has ended. Not only was last week a big news week, with the U.S. Presidential Election, but there was also other news that included Yasser Arafat getting very ill. The U.S. are mounting a major offensive in Faluja Iraq, which some say could potentially be a very bloody battle.

To top all of that off, for me the week was super busy at work, and I had to do some work over the weekend, for the first time in over one and a half years. I know it sucks to be working like this, but it makes me look forward to the Christmas break.

I went to see the movie 'Saw' with LR last week. It tended to remind both of us of the movie 'Seven'. It was entertaining. I saw 'Back to the Future' over the weekend on T.V., which got me thinking of LR's good friend Titor, the tyme travelling Internet dude. There seems to be a lot of Irregularities with tyme travel, that would have to be sorted out.

I also saw the movie 'Fargo' on t.v.; actually , I watched the second half of the movie. I always liked that movie, and it hasn't lost any of it's appeal to me.

I've been told that I should definitely check out the movie 'What the bleep do we know', ASAP. Apparently it's a life changing movie, dealing with Quantum Physics. Physics has always been something I've enjoyed, although I never did well in my High School Physics class. I did some research a few years ago on Quantum Physics, but found it very confusing. I also want to see 'The Motorcycle Diaries', which LR and myself are supposed to see soon.

So much over the past week that deals with movies. What does that mean? Does it signify something new in my life?

My Oma moved into a Nursing Home on Friday. She's actually pretty happy to be there, since she's 93 years old, and was still living on her own. She was getting scared being alone, because she fell a couple of times. She was lucky that she didn't hurt herself, but she always wanted somebody to stay with her. She is now happy to have the 24 hour help at the nursing home, and it's a pretty nice place.

So what am I trying to say here? I guess that GWB won the election because of the Christian Evangelical Right. I've had discussions over this, and I believe the election results had a lot to do with Religion. The Southern Baptists are very much into having a 'Born Again Christian' in office, that understands their issues. It's all kind of scary if you ask me...

Anyway, on to another week of work...

Stop Boring Me...

It's all red...

The country is looking more and more as if it will end up being red.

I keep getting confused, looking at the election maps. Republicans are red, while Democrats are blue. But up North, the Liberals are red, and the Conservatives are blue.

Thank gawd we don't have an elephant and jackass though...
